Golan Heights: Episode 3 — Battle Days
Before the full Syrian offensive of 6 October 1973, the Golan front had already been tested in smaller clashes known as battle days. These probes, artillery exchanges, and limited attacks helped Syria study Israeli strongpoints, minefields, anti-tank ditches, firing ramps, and reaction patterns along the Purple Line. What seemed like familiar border violence also served as rehearsal for a larger combined-arms assault.
